Finding materials in the study rooms
The books available on the study-room shelves are grouped by subjects. Each discipline has a unique numeric code, such as 61 for the medical sciences. Within each subject, the books are shelved alphabetically, usually by the author’s surname (such as 61-NOVÁ, 61-NOVO, etc.). In this way, books by the same author and on the same subject will always be shelved next to each other. This system also makes it easy to browse books by subject when you are not looking for a specific title.
The subject and alphabetical categorization of all titles can be found in the catalogue under the heading Call Number. Each discipline is assigned a colour and you can find its location in the study rooms on the map below.

Journals
Journals have a dedicated section in the study rooms ()
and they are shelved alphabetically by the first four letters of the title. The labels on the shelves indicate the subject
and the relevant section of the alphabet, such as Bi-ACTA, Bi-CHEM, etc. The journal section is located close to the reference library.
The alphabetical categorization of a journal title can be found in the item view in the catalogue under Call Number.
